Tess Kornfield

Tess Kornfield is Vice President of Product and Data Science at ThredUp, one of the largest online resale platforms for apparel, shoes, and accessories. Tess joined ThredUp as one of its first data scientists in 2015 and built out a high-performing data and analytics team that focuses on developing the algorithms powering ThredUp’s customer experience as well as the company’s pricing and promotions strategy. In her current role, she leads both product and data science with a quantitative eye and mission-driven vision to inspire the world to think secondhand first. Prior to joining ThredUp, she spent over 10 years doing scientific research. She has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of California, San Diego, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Neuroscience from the University of Minnesota, where she studied mechanisms of blood flow in the retina. Tess lives in Albany, CA with her husband and daughter.
