Stephan Jacob

Founder & COO Cotopaxi

Stephan is one of the founders/COO of Cotopaxi, an outdoor gear brand with a humanitarian mission. Before Cotopaxi, he was founder/CEO of venture funded Kembrel.com, a marketplace for independent designers. He previously worked as a consultant for McKinsey Germany and a software developer for Bunge US. As an advocate for an Indonesian Anti-Child Labor NGO, Stephan helped to take over 700 children from fishing platforms, factories, mills & prostitution back to their homes and schools. He holds an MBA from the The Wharton School (UPenn), an MA in International Studies from the Lauder Institute (UPenn) and a Master in Information Systems from the University of Mannheim & the University of South Australia. Stephan has adventured, lived and worked in 30+ countries, kayaked from Cuba to Florida & climbed hundreds of peaks while serving in the German military.
