James Dorado

VP, Analytics & Strategy Boxed

James Dorado is the VP of Analytics and Strategy at Boxed. James joined Boxed at an early stage and has been with the company for 8 years. Prior to Boxed, James worked in a finance role at an early-stage technology startup in the consumer wearables space. Coming from a finance background, he worked for several years on the finance team at Boxed, building out the team, and working closely with the CFO to raise several rounds of private capital ahead of Boxed’s IPO. Through his finance experience, James developed a suite of analytics models to enable intelligent decision-making, and these models became the foundation of Boxed’s advanced analytics. Spotting an opportunity to drive the company’s data driven culture forward, he took on a new role to establish Boxed’s centralized analytics function and has been building out the team and its capabilities since. James has implemented key elements of the modern data stack such as Snowflake, dbt, and Fivetran. Most recently, he was a founding member of Spresso, a new business unit, that modularizes Boxed’s advanced analytics and machine learning technologies via a multi-tenant SaaS platform to enable other businesses.
