As the co-founder, chief executive officer, and creative director of State Bags, a mission-driven family bag company offering high-quality backpacks, bags, and more for the whole family, Jacq Tatelman is responsible for the creative vision, business development, and growth of the brand. Founded alongside husband Scot in 2013, STATE was born out of the duo’s direct work with disenfranchised youth and the need to provide even the smallest gift of confidence (like a new backpack) for the school year. The brand started as a 1:1 company as the Give.Back.Pack, and has since evolved to the Giving Company to encompass its breadth of giving efforts, including partnerships with nonprofits, fully-packed bag drop rallies in underserved communities, free tutoring sessions to help families navigate Zoom school, and more. Each year, STATE allocates a portion of the company’s total revenue towards these efforts that help American families and children in the ways they need it most.
