Eugene Kovshilovsky
Eugene Kovshilovsky is Chief Technology Officer at AutoParts.com, where he leads technology, software engineering, and AI strategy for one of the largest online retailers in the automotive aftermarket. With more than 20 years in software engineering — and over a decade of it spent in auto parts eCommerce — he has built and scaled the systems that sit behind catalogs of hundreds of thousands of SKUs, where getting a customer to the one part that actually fits their year, make, and model is the whole game. Prior to AutoParts.com, Eugene served as CTO of PARTS iD (CARiD), CTO of CarLotz, and Senior Vice President of Software Engineering at CarParts.com, along with earlier engineering leadership roles at Media Temple (a GoDaddy company), EnterpriseAlumni, and SmartCSM. His work spans product data and fitment, AI-driven search and personalization, pricing and inventory intelligence, and the platform engineering that ties it together.

5:20 PM Parts in an Hour: How AutoParts.com Built an On-Demand Delivery Experience

Through DoorDash Getting the right auto part to a customer stranded in their driveway is a fundamentally different fulfillment challenge than shipping a pair of jeans. Eugene Kovshilovsky, CTO at AutoParts.com, will share how the company now offers more than 200,000 parts and accessories on DoorDash, matched to a customer's specific vehicle and delivered in under an hour on average, through independently-owned automotive stores rather than a centralized warehouse. Making that work operationally required rethinking not just fulfillment, but how customers find the right part in the first place: search, compatibility filtering, and product data all have to work before the delivery promise can.

    • Structuring a marketplace delivery partnership that routes correctly at speed without sacrificing order accuracy in a high-SKU, high-specificity category
    • Building product discovery and compatibility data that performs in a new commerce environment where customers are not searching the way they would on your own site
    • Designing the local fulfillment layer that makes on-demand viable when inventory lives across independently-owned stores rather than a single distribution point
    • Measuring what success looks like when the customer's alternative was driving to the store themselves and the margin for error on the wrong part is zero
