3) 11:55: Bridging the High-Stakes Gap Between Consumer, Merchant, Marketer, and Machine Speak
We all shop and speak differently when describing the products we want. Now, new consumer research conducted by Lily AI shows that not only is the gap between Merchant and Consumer “speak” wider than anticipated–that gap continues to expand in more directions as a new stakeholder emerges: Machines. As we enter the AI Era and the rise of AI-powered search, Answer Engines, and Agentic AI, we’ll see the stakes soar exponentially higher, and product content start to take center stage as a result. The race for retailers to win over consumer hearts and wallets by catching up with today’s AI leaders, like Amazon and Walmart, will become either a positive-sum game or a winner-takes-all.
